My name is Kathy Blanchard. My family and I moved to Newberg in July of 2008. Before that my husband and I were apartment managers for 5 1/2 years in Milwaukie, Oregon. Well, we love it here in Yamhill County. This is the friendliest town we have ever lived in. My family consists of myself of course, Del, my husband of 29 years; Jessica, 16 and Emily, 14 (our grand daughters we are raising); our youngest son Shawn, and his 3 yr old son Wyatt. Yes we do fill up the house.  (Update: Jessica has moved to Arizona to live with her mother and Emily has moved in with her dad. I feel like an empty nester.)

Until a couple of years ago, my husband and I were avid Motorcyclists. We put many many miles on the road and visited many states. Our sons started riding as passengers as soon as they were old enough and our oldest had his own Harley til recently.  The whole family plays golf, though not as often as Del and I try to. (except the baby, but he does have plastic clubs)

I have always had a love of old homes, their histories, their secrets. Do you know who might have lived in your home before you? Does your home have a secret door? What's buried in the yard or hidden in the attic? There just isn't anything better then the mysteries they hold. My dream has always been to be able to go into the attic of a home lived in for generations and poke through the 'memories and stuff ' left behind. Of course there is something to be said for a brand new home with the newest in decoration and architecture.

 I just recently joined Duckett Realty in hopes of combining my interest in homes with a fulfilling career.
